The Marv Nissel Band is proud to present their 27th recording, "Precious Memories!"
The Marv Nissel Band has done it one more time - they have released another recording, their 27th! This latest release by the band is entitled "Precious Memories" and contains some of the band's favorite songs. Marv recalls hearing Jerry Schuft's recording of "Precious Memories," and always liked the song. In addition to "Precious Memories," Marv is featured on "Tony's Polka," a concertina solo recorded by Elmer Scheid. Joining Marv on a concertina duet is his daughter, Lori, on the "Snowball Waltz." Another favorite of Marv's is the "Golden Star Polka" played in the key of "B" (five sharps).
For his thirty-fifth birthday, Carol gave Marv a 1931 Pearl Queen concertina. This unique-sounding concertina is heard on "Red River Valley." Carol's distinctive voice is found on "Geisha Girl," a song she remembers singing as a young girl. The beautiful trumpet harmonies that appear throughout this recording are played by Lori and Mike. Lori is also fiddling on a Buck Owens' classic, "Looking Back To See."
The Marv Nissel Band has been playing for over thirty years, has traveled many thousands of miles, and performed across the United States. They are very fortunate to have met so many wonderful fans along the way and to have made so many "precious memories."
