The Marv Nissel Band is proud to present their 26th recording, "My Best Friend."
Marv and Carol were married in 1964 and celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary October 17, 2004, with an open house celebration and dance at the Klossner House in Klossner, Minnesota, a favorite supper club for the Nissels. Pictured on the front cover is Marv and Carol celebrating this event. Marv and Carol are truly best friends to have stayed happily married for more than 40 years.
Marrying your best friend is found throughout The Marv Nissel Band with Marv and Carol's two daughters, Lori and Jodi. Lori married Craig Ebel in 1997 and they have one son, Christopher, who was born March 2, 2005. Jodi married Brian Brueggen in 2001 and they have two sons, Philip, who was born September 19, 2002, and Presley, who was born February 18, 2004. Brian also has two older children, Brady and Brianne.
Also like a member of the family, musician Mike Moldan married his best friend, Carol, in 1981. They have three daughters, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Christine.
There is a wide variety of songs heard on this latest recording by The Marv Nissel Band including "The Lida Polka," which Marv is playing on a 1946 Patek concertina that was played at Marv and Carol's wedding dance 41 years ago (October 17, 1964) by Wenzel Fisher with The Slim Kalz Band. The concertina is now owned by Jerry Minar of New Prague. "My Best Friend" is an original song by Lenny Gomulka and was sung at Jodi and Brian's wedding by Lori and Craig. "My Best Friend" is often referred to by all of those who are a part of The Marv Nissel Band.
